Yesterday the step children of the 69 year old woman (Kim Howe) he pushed into oncoming traffic filed a civil suit against Bruce Jenner for wrongful death.
TMZ reports that the 2 stepkids had virtually no relationship with Kim, and any damages they claim for her loss might be extremely hard to prove. They claim loss of affection, but friends who were close to Kim say there was no affection at all. Kim had no other living relatives.
Jenner told investigators that paparazzi were following him at the time of the crash, but he was not evading them. His lawyer has said that the U.S. Olympian was not texting at the time of crash.
The suit alleges Kimberly Howe was driving with caution and did not cause the crash. Howe's license expired in 2007, according to the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
The police investigation is wrapping up and expected to be handed over to prosecutors. I don't think any evidence of texting while driving was uncovered in his phone records, which Jenner volunteered and turned over right away. He passed a sobriety test and he was reportedly traveling under the speed limit. But, it's still possible that he could be charged with reckless driving if police deem he just wasn't paying close enough attention to stop when the car ahead of him did, or if it's deemed that he was following too closely.
