That was a sad day, but also the first step up from rock bottom. Aside from the bad back, he's better than ever today. Great guy. I'm hoping he doesn't get scrips after the surgery and can manage the pain with marijuana. He still smokes a lot of weed and drinks a fair amount, but he hasn't done pills in 20 years.
Ha! I'll bet he never showered and cleaned up so fast! That was a hell of an offer!
From experience, I can say back pain can be debilitating if you don't treat it right and take care of it. I think for those inclined it could be very easy to keep popping pills to kill the pain.
And six, following doc orders is critical. I struggled the same way, wanting to pick up things and be 'normal', but I was on 10lbs or less restriction for a few months. It also took awhile for the numbness to subside, but it eventually did.
