You fail to consider that many non-blacks also wish to see the Confederate flag displayed in a historical/personal context, rather than flying over the state capitol today.

Wait, that flag hasn't been flying over the capital for 15 years in South Carolina.

I thought it was flying at a memorial on the capital grounds, and that is what is coming down now.

Or are we talking about something else and I didn't read it right?

What's being advocated by Governor Haley and other state politicians is that it's time to stop flying the Confederate flag over capitol grounds altogether.
