I can only speak from experience and its totally limited to gay relationships. If you have had the benefit of both types please tell me what you have experienced as the major differences. From what I have seen there may be many. My first lover told me I was making a mistake to fashion a gay relationship using what I knew about a straight one as a blueprint. That one only lasted 4 years 20-24 for me.

The gay couples I know seem to be just like other couples, but I have to claim hetero ignorance on this one. I would have assumed that a relationship between two gay people would be like any other relationship... two people in love, doing the things that people in love do. Until your post, I wouldn't have thought it different.
