I think a blade could be just as dangerous in a school setting. Once you are cornered it don't matter what the instrument is, your pretty much fucked. Then there is no loud bang from a knife, warning the rest of the school as to what is going on. Yes there will be screaming but that can mean many things in a class. A gunshot rings out and everyone knows what is going down.
But that's just me thinking out loud again.
