I think they were disenchanted with him from the start of the season when he made all those odd and risky moves with player personnel. They acted like they were behind him but you got the feeling it was win or die at that point. Kelley will be a better fit in San Francisco where his odder notions will be received better. At the very least Colin Kaepernick will benefit from his presence.

I find this a bit confusing. Chip has always stated that his scheme depends more on an accurate pocket passer than a running QB. That's why he went after Bradford.
