That's funny but not funny. Y'all musta been horrified!

I had a bad dog experience with water too. My beagle liked to jump in the pond when the geese were in there, she'd swim towards them until they flew off only to have them come back in at the opposite end and she would swim back & forth trying to get them but damn near killing herself in the process. She didn't have enough sense to swim to shore when she was tiring. The fool had to be pulled out a couple times. I didn't jump in, there are snappers in there.
