That's what the Governor of Utah says. He goes on to say it creates a sexually toxic environment and treats women as objects & commodities. Do you agree?
There is no right or wrong answer as it's your opinion only.
I think, in general, women do porn because they want to and it's not for others to say they are demeaning themselves or make it sound as if they have been coerced and they bear no responsibility. That's just my opinion.
He's not entirely wrong. The environment and hostility created around the industry is toxic to the women involved, and utterly dehumanizing no matter how empowering they'd like it to be when starting out. I say this as a person who has watched a number of family members be a part of that world with varying degrees of success and personal ruin. It's not a blameless or helpless situation, but it is most certainly degrading and coercive on many levels, and it kills the soul of the people involved. If I were inclined to do so I would draw parallels to other forms of mental addiction, such as gambling or compulsive behaviors.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.
