Its hard to find big melons anymore too. The ones I raised averaged about 30 lbs or more, many near 50.
Grocery stores regularly had big ones too, now all they have is "Ice Box" melons, small ones under 7 or 8 lbs.

They don't taste as good as they used to anymore either. Especially the "seedless ice box" melons.
