Religious chuckle heads aren't okay with a lot of things, so I imagine a fair number of them would have a major problem with it (whether they 'should' or not).
In the 50 U.S. states currently on the map, both same sex marriage and opposite sex marriage are already legal, so whether one or both spouses is trans is irrelevant.
If that bothers them enough and they're playing with a full deck, those religious jokers might consider shuffling on over to the two secret un-mapped states you sometimes reference and establish them as trans-free America. ')
