No means no. Period. However, I think there are degrees of it. I've dealt with some and it was never anything that I wanted to ruin someone's life over. I've said this badly. *cringe*
I think you articulated it well and most people probably feel the same way; only the extremists on the subject appear to view it differently. There are definitely different degrees of severity.
A man who's just a pervy creep -- always leering, constant sexual innuendo, inappropriately touching, grabbing, pinching -- is one thing. It's not a crime and shouldn't be put in the same category as rape, sexual harassment and job threatening in the work place, drugging and sexually abusing people, molestation...
Harvey Weinstein and Al Franken's actions, for example, fall into very different categories of sexual misconduct. In my opinion.
I dont think Morgan Freeman's life is gonna be ruined by this, aside from salacious headlines that he probably could care less about. But if a few "well meaning" assholes like me take a minute to consider their approaches to women and the impact of systemic sexism...
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.
