Well, I don't think anyone here is a pig or that the Washington Post is pigpen liner Mags. But, even if they were, I'd be surprised if Mock's Democrats or liberals would go to the mat in defense of Mitt Romney.
Romney's made it clear that he supports most of Trump's policies and that he will thus toe the Republican party line when it comes to Senate votes.
He's just planting a flag with his face on it atop the moral high-ground, yet again, in my opinion.
Maybe he wants to be first in line as a 2020 Republican challenger should the party need/support one? Or, maybe he's sincerely troubled by Trump's demeanor and character and he's trying to get other Republican senators to resist conforming to it, for the good of the party and the country?
In any case, unless your head is extremely sensitive, I don't think you'd need a ton of aspirin just to explain/defend your characterization of Romney as a Democrat, a RINO, and a dope when you supported him so fully in 2012 (though your turnabout isn't much of a mystery to me anyway).
Romney's positions and character don't seem to have changed much, if at all, over the last 7 years, to me. Then again, I thought Paul Ryan was solid and principled back in 2012 and I was definitely proven wrong on that one. I don't know if Ryan was a fraud back then or became one later. Doesn't really matter -- he's dust now.
