Miller has been in trouble with the law over the years, starting at age 18 when he was booked on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. While living in Mountlake Terrace in 1968, Miller also was cited for lewd contact after exposing himself to a 17-year-old girl. In 1972 he would have been 30 years old when this cold case rape and murder was committed.

LE says that Miller was never on their radar for Jody's rape/murder before they got a DNA hit to his family last year.

He only lived five miles from the crime scene and had a sex crimes record, but apparently police back then didn't know that or didn't figure his previous arrests fit the profile of a rapist/murderer.  

I wonder if Miller's DNA will end up matching other unsolved sex crimes in the area.  

Miller's arraignment is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, April 15.
