I don't think I can stand the increase nice talk and soup chicken bullshit that is practically guaranteed to follow. It's not like there isn't enough opportunity to have serious discussions should people really feel like it. If I want to discuss a serious topic I can just post about it and certain people will be serious and others will not be, and I can ignore those I wanted to. If people can't handle getting razzed on while they try to discuss their skin rash or love of cars in a serious way, then they are on the wrong site, I am thinking. I also like the unpredictability, I guess.I actually agree with you, MF. The stale repetitive crap we've had since... well essentially since the newest pack of newbs came through (with an exception or two) makes it pretty tiring to wade through the posts sometimes (more 'muck' than 'mock' many times), but I think they will eventually move on.
Some people have justified anger it seems and you can't blame them for frothing at the mouth a bit. I don't know if there is a reasonable way to 'control' the flaming without seriously putting a damper on the spirit of the site.
