I had a spontaneous pneumothorax at the age of 24 and was in the hospital for two weeks with a chest tube. Basically my lung popped a hole and collapsed for no known reason whatsoever. Normally a pneumothorax is caused by trauma, but in rear cases like me it can have no known cause. The pain was excruciating and I could feel the air bubbles in my chest escaping my lung, but strangely I could breath fine. Once my lung pumped back up I never had any problems again. It was scary, however. I didnt think I was going to die, I knew I was going to die.
