I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M LOOKING FOR A PROTECTIVE MASK TO GUARD AGAINST A DEADLY VIRUS IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN THE YEAR 2020! I don't want to go out if I need a mask in order to be safe. Fuckity fuck.
The only ones that offer protection against covid 19 is either the N95 (which boasts a 95% protection rate) or one made from the Heppa vaccum cleaner bags (which is supposedly 100 %, but I haven't heard of one being tested yet).
After that comes the hospital surgical mask, which rates at about 80%
The single use paper mask is supposedly 50% protective rate
Lastly the hand sewn mask, which gives maybe a 20 % protection
Also, if you end up buying a fabric mask, make sure it 100% cotton, and bleach it after each use.
I forget whether it's the CDC or the WHO that published the numbers, I'll have to see if I can find the article.
