Breast Feeding

And while were on the subject, and I will get in trouble for this I suppose, but I don't want to see any women whipping out their tit to breast feed babies in public either. If you have to work after having a baby, you need to pump it for daycare anyways, so why can't you pump it before you go to the fucking Mall.

That's my opinion as a woman and I'm sticking to it. No offence to the wee ones.

That's the way infants are supposed to be fed. I believe in a little decorum, but I have nursed in public when my son was an infant. Sometimes I would take him into a restroom, sometimes I would just use a loose cover, but why should a person even feel it is necessary to go to those lengths?

It isn't always practical or even possible to pump enough milk to feed your child before going out and some little ones (like my son for instance) refused to take a bottle. Would you suggest simply letting the infants go hungry? It happens that breastfed babies have to nurse much more often than formula fed babies, since breastmilk is absorbed by their system more quickly. A formula-fed baby can go several hours between feedings when they are little, but a nursing baby has to be fed about every 1-2 hours. I'm sure if you had to sit in a waiting room with a screaming hungry infant, you would be begging the mother to just let the baby nurse.

I'm sure you're not trying to educate me on how to feed an infant. I breast fed both of my kids for the first year of their lives. I managed to do it discretely 22 years ago, and pump enough milk to be able to go to work every day. It can be done, without a whole lot of effort.

So you say you don't think trying to ween your son is related to why he is getting sick, but then you say nursing him saved him from being hospitalized when he got sick....I'm confused.

I never suggested letting a baby go hungry. And of course I've sat in a waiting room, plenty of times, with plenty of screaming babies. If you're talking about a waiting room for a pediatrician, I would fully expect to see mothers breastfeeding, as I have been one of those mothers.
