Smaller? Why would you want smaller than an 8" screen?? (Well, 8.9, but hell...) Ick! That would put it in a different category. Called "Ultra Mobile PCs." Whereas the one I just showed you is a "Netbook".
UMPCs can get down to the 3" screen size. No thank you. Especially since their CPUs are slow. Back to late P-II/early P-III speeds. Who the hell wants a modern computer to have only 400Mhz (0.4GHz)???
I'd at least want the thing to be able to run an office suite without bogging down. The Asus I showed you can. The UMPCs I've seen can't.
For example (The 400MHz one):

Whereas the Asus Netbook I showed you has a much larger screen size, a 1.6GHz CPU and 1GB of RAM, WITH a 160GB HDD. While the little UMPCs have VERY little RAM, 128MB in the case of the above, and virtually no HDD space. In fact the one above requires you to use Flash memory cards (SD format) in order to have space.
Now, this is not to say that HP hasn't taken a step in another direction, but until I see it, I'll reserve judgment. Just be aware of what you're getting yourself into. Because IMHO, an 8-9 inch screened Netbook would be a much better option for you. And its still tiny and lightweight and will fit in a purse. And the capability difference is easily worth another $100 or so.
Edit: Oh yeah, and we can take this discussion to email if you'd like some more comparison and my professional opinion more (once you find it on HPs website, or get me the model number).
