His 3rd wife said that he was able to tie himself up. Not a real stretch especially when you consider that he had exceptional dexterity and flexibility due to his martial arts background.

She had also said that many times she would walk in on him in the middle of some sort of self bondage sex act and just walk away leaving him to his own devices.
