Ordinary Peephole Wrote:When I was a kid I accepted my greens and my meat and fresh veg and my piece of fruit for dessert because often times there was fuck all else in the house to eat. My mothers attitude was eat the freshly prepared food I put in front of you or starve, end of story.I grew up eating fairly balanced home cooked meals (most nights). We very rarely had breakfast and sometimes a 'lunch' type meal, sometimes not. I never had an issue with eating my veggies and such, it strikes me as ludicrous that so many kids 'won't' eat vegetables. I was thin growing up... being overweight is my own fault.
My son would rather eat raw fresh veggies than carbs or protein. It's actually a bit of a problem because he's 4lbs UNDERweight for his height (that's quite a bit for a toddler). He also refuses to drink milk.
