I'm not talking about political bullshit, that's a given. I mean something that someone you 'knew' from online posted that ended up being a big, steaming pile of lies.
I've encountered a LOT of liars online but the worst one had to be someone in an MSN chatroom that presented 'itself' as a very attractive young woman (guaranteed to get a lot of attention back then) that was suffering from cancer. She claimed her father was a world renowned surgeon, blah blah... and when she claimed to have been admitted into the hospital, one of her biggest admirers frantically contacted the hospital but couldn't track her down. He then tried to contact the famous father (that no one had apparently tried to research before then) but the man didn't exist. Bitch disappeared! Keep in mind there were a lot of people that used MSN chatrooms back then, so there were probably upwards of 100 people that were concerned about this person.
