900.00 per month is crazy. Put is some trol-temp zoning dampers that shut down rooms that are not used during the day. They are about 20-30.00 each and put heavy cyrtains on the South wall facing windows. Switch to light fabric in the winter. Put in a timer that will run during off-peak times at night and after 5pm during the week. Have shut-offs for AC before 7AM.
I run AC and a pool filter and a freezer and use propane for my dryer. My electric bill has never been higher than 120.00 per month in years. Set your AC unit @ 74 rather than 69 (my favorite number by the way) and replace your filters 3 times a year not twice. Use a fast dry coil cleaner twice a year to clean out the condenser and if you have windows in the cellar use that crazy white snow flake spray on them it will reflect the heat and in the winter use hay on the north north-east side ( for the people from NE) Take the hay in the spring and use it as mulch or cover , that will keep the weeds out the garden.
Caulk and paint the windows every fall, and seal all doors with sticky-back 1/4" neo-prene rolls. I have a 3 bedroom 2 bath home . 900.00 per month would send me in a tizzy,how the Fuck do you do that?
