This fucking story just keeps getting more and more annoying... the balloon was:

There's no way that would've held that kid. If you're going to make a hoax, at least try not to get caught. That just blows the whole story, anyone with a lick of common sense would've known the kid wasn't on the balloon, so that proves dad's a big fat liar.
