No, the archives are, as far as I know, intact.
One of the people you may be talking about was 'Moose', who, although he could be entertaining to read sometimes, was also known for simply being obnoxious for the sake of being obnoxious.
There are plenty of 'flame sites' out there, if that's what you're looking for. I think that's the most common misconception people have when they come here, that Mock is 'just a flame site'. Pretty much every one of us CAN be as crass and vulgar as anyone else, some of us more than others, but that's not all this site is.
Feel free to express yourself in as rude a manner as you want... you might get into a flame war with a few folks, if you're interesting (or a very short one if you're not), but for god's sake, stop the fucking whining.
