I am astounded that you would have the nerve to tell folks how they should react to racial slurs. Seems very arrogant to me.


Teaching your kid not to partake in using racial slurs - a good move.

It IS arrogant, but it's also right.

The INTENT of racial slurs is evil - to try and degrade a person for their heritage. However, a person allowing his/herself to be negatively affected by a racial slur, simply demonstrates that 'self hate' you were talking about earlier.

The black community will never 'own' the 'n-word', the way people are going about it now. The best way to 'destroy' the 'n-word', or any racial slur, would be to simply embrace it and not give a flying fuck WHO said it, black white or purple. Totally strip the word of its power. If no one CARED whether or not you called them by a racial slur, that slur would no longer be used because it would no longer be hurtful.
