Seriously... especially as far as the healthcare and education goes, why the hell doesn't our gov't just say "Oh look, the UK has a plan in place that works, why don't we copy it?". Problem solved.
I'm waiting to see what the new healthcare plan entails and our educational system is so fucked up that it's a total joke. It was bad BEFORE the idiotic 'no child left behind' bullshit. I recently found out that one of the so-called 'improvements' to the NCLB program, is that there are NO LONGER separate classes for kids, based on their learning abilities. That means, retarded and brilliant kids are in the SAME CLASS with the SAME fucking curriculum, dumbed down to accommodate the slowest kids in the class. Our country is screwed.
