We paused the show and I asked my husband and he said he definitely doesn’t feel his age (despite aches and pains). Mentally/emotionally he feels more like he’s still in his 30’s/early 40’s.
My answer depressed me, lol. I feel every one of my years physically (even though by all measures I’m doing pretty well in that regard with my running and stuff) and mentally/emotionally. I “feel” the deaths of loved ones over the last 10-15 years, the struggles my daughter (especially) dealt with as a teen and then Covid. I feel like Covid was one giant trauma (watching the ticker tape of people dying, the isolation, how awful it felt to me just to go to the store (it was like visiting a hospital to get bananas). Sucked! So yeah, I remember how I felt in my youth (full of energy, somewhat blissfully ignorant of pain and suffering and immune to thinking about my own death or even of the death of those near to me.
I definitely don’t feel like that anymore. Boo-hoo!
My biggest complaint is a feeling that I don’t have the energy/interest to get out and do more social and/or “fun” activities but I think that’s tied to a low level depression tho.
