Sally I absolutely agree with what you are saying. That being said, my friend has not learned to cook for herself. She did not do well in school, I don't know why, but she often struggles with reading comprehension.
These are things that do not come naturally to her.
I am going to suggest she try some cooking classes. Maybe some local health food stores have some classes.
