I don’t have a strong opinion either way but saying we’ve allowed things in the past isn’t a good argument for continuing the practice.
The only danger I can think of is that they'll realize how hopelessly dumb we are, but I'm pretty sure that ship sailed a long time ago. Am I missing something?
Buying into government fearmongering is a pretty good example of ignorance and passivity, and the sanctity of those are precisely what the government is claiming to be a matter of national security. "How dare a platform allow people to feely exchange thoughts and ideas that threaten our ability to control the narratives that many falsely believe to be truth."
The people we should be concerned about are those who endeavor to control what people think and believe.
