OP hasn't bothered to check the breakdown of the numbers - i.e. how many of those gun-related deaths are gang related or cops killing citizens. If he really broke it down he would realize that the vast majority of gun related incidents don't involve almost all of us, and that gun owners as a whole are exemplary in their law-abiding nature.
The problem, ultimately, comes down to ignorance and wanting freedom for free. You know, pretending that there isn't a cost to freedom and that the use or misuse of a basic right (to effective self defense in this case) is a good excuse to destroy it. People like OP tend to be OK with ignoring the principles of freedom because either their culture either wasn't born out of fighting for them or because it's been too long since the citizenry has had to truly protect them.
OP doesn't recognize that the citizens are the store keepers and are responsible for their own safety and Government ... he is a sheep in a Country on the ramp to sheep heaven.
