So what the hell does this ex nude model winning this election mean in real terms?

It means that the dems don't have the 60 votes they need to push through healthcare reform. My understanding is they might settle for a lesser version of the bill and try to vote it through before Brown takes office.

Also, if a Republican was voted in in a state where 2/3's of the voters are registered Democrats, it doesn't bode well for the Democrats (all over the country) in the next general elections in November 2010. We could see a complete swing to the right with Democrats getting voted out/Republicans in.

I see, so the vote in massachusetts is seen as a barometer for a possible national swing towards the Republicans in a general election? I thought presidents got four year terms?
