"Well, first, she friended my sister and I didn't think that was a betrayal even though my sister thought that I might see it as such and that there might be underlying sinister motives. So, I gave my sister permission to accept her invitation of Facebook friendship. Then, I discovered that she had a separate Facebook page, which she didn't invite me to join. Of course, I let her have it because THAT is surely a betrayal and I will not be ignored! Oddly, she "unfriended" me thereafter. Now, even though she's aware of my new bench-top dishwasher, there can only be one reason for the unfriending -- she doesn't think I'm of a high enough social status for her!! And, I don't care about social status and don't associate with people who do, though I've been friends with this woman for over 30 years and I'm losing sleep over the whole ordeal."
