Alt-Right Racist Extremist to Rally Again
One year ago this weekend, the Unite The Right white supremacists ^ gathered to rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Locals showed up in larger numbers to protest racism, and Antifa showed up to confront the supremacists.
Law enforcement had underestimated the crowd size and were ill-prepared for the chaos that ensued. They eventually ordered the rally an unlawful assembly and ordered the crowds to disperse.
That's when one of the supremacists, James Alex Fields - 21, drove into a group of protesters who were crossing the street while chanting and carrying signs promoting racial equality.
Fields then backed up and into the crowd again. He injured several and killed Heather Heyer. Two helicopter police officers were also killed when they crashed while patrolling the event. Rest in Peace.
