I read that the special (off-year) elections in Virginia last night saw Democrats gain control of all branches of the state government for the first time in 25 years.
Voters in the suburbs again made the difference, like they did in the 2018 midterms.
Having control of all branches of state government will make it a lot easier for Democrats to get legislation on issues like gun safety/control passed. It also means that Democrats will be in charge of voter redistricting maps.
