Jevon Wameling is currently in the Oneida County jail on burglary charges.

One can hope he never makes it to trial.

To me, nothing beats a Dahmer-esque meting of justice while behind bars.

Jevon Wameling ended up pleading guilty to manslaughter charges in November.

Prosecutors contend that they couldn't charge him with murder because they had no evidence to show that he intended to kill Levon.

First, Jevon told authorities that the baby was abducted. Next, he told them that Levon died in his sleep. Finally, after autopsy revealed the crack in Levon's skull, he claimed that the baby fell off of the couch and died a couple of days later.

Jevon claims that he panicked and tossed his son in the Mohawk River.

With no eyewitnesses to prove differently and given the fact that his confession to where he'd disposed of the baby came after he'd asked for an attorney (but police kept questioning him before the attorney arrived), the DA claims there wasn't enough admissible evidence to take to a grand jury.

So, last week Jevon was sentenced to 7.5 to 15 years in jail. He was already there and serving a couple of years for burglary - his manslaughter sentence was made concurrent under his guilty plea agreement.

Asshole - at the very least - neglected his baby, dumped him like trash, lied and lied again, let massive searches be conducted...and that's all he gets.

The judge recommended that Jevon do the full 15 years without early release. Even if that happens, it doesn't seem like justice for Levon.

Thats pretty fucked up, hope he ends up a bar of soap in prison. I don't think they should do concurrent sentencing, especially in the case of a killing. The assholes should pay for each crime.
