Three of them were killed a week or so ago. One found still buckled into his mangled car, one found a mile away in one direction, the other found a mile away in the opposite direction.

A friend of my mate died filming whirlpools a few weeks ago, he had been filming them for years.

That's a pretty grim way to check out.

I would probably end up like that, if I saw a tornado up close my overriding instinct would be to stop and film it as opposed to driving away in the opposite direction.

The power of them is mesmerizing to some people. They can drive a fence post through a tree trunk like a knife through soft butter. I don't find them appealing in any way.

I think they are fascinating.
I the nineties I went to see that film Twister about three times at the cinema.

I flew over/through that system last night.
We passed just north of the main energy that was affecting Iowa and Illinois.
It was pretty impressive. We were at 36,000 feet and could never really get on top of it.
Big turbulence and a very uncomfortable ride. Again.
Good luck today Duchess.

I'm alive. It wasn't nearly as bad as they said it would be. The weather channel was in the Fort this morning saying we got 5" of rain. We only got 2". Two tornado warnings last night 5 miles from my house.

It was pretty much a non-event here. I'm considering sending hate mail to The Weather Channel.
When I saw the black clouds moving in I threw some things into a bag (Laptop, Kindle, phone, weed/bowl, cash. You see where my priorities lie) and I went up to the stable, I didn't want to be alone. As I was sitting in his office up there I got to thinking about a tornado touching down and the force of it would throw me into the horse pool and I'd be knocked unconscious by falling debris AND I WOULD DROWN. I went back home.
