No we are equal partners who pool our combined resources, before either of us want to make a major purchase we consult the other one first.
We BOTH decided a ride on lawnmower isn't a practical or worthwhile purchase right now

If you made more than 4£/hour, perhaps a 600£ riding mower wouldnt be a "major purchase".

You are no longer in the womb, friend. The competition is tougher out here.

No, you said she wouldn't LET you. She makes the decisions. If my husband wanted a riding mower to make lawn maintenance easier, I would say go for it. It's like me getting the newest greatest vacuum. It makes me happy. If a riding mower makes him happy, he should have it.

Let me just butt in here -
Lawn tractors are a serious amount of money, several thousand dollars. Da wifey & him both agreed it's not a practical purchase right now.
OP, do you have Lowes there or Home Depot? They both run promos with 18-24 months same as cash.

No, we discussed it and she convinced me it wasn't something we needed. If she asked me if it was OK to buy a diamond ring right now i would tell her there was no fucking way.
So if your hubby came back home with a sports car without consulting you you would be perfectly happy with that would you?
I think you and your hubby should cut down on the splurging when you can't even afford fucking health insurance to get your gall bladder removed.
I know it might be a hard choice operation? Or ride on mower?
Retard.

Yeah a ride on mower is a SERIOUS purchase and not one to be taken lightly.
We don't have home depot or lowes in the UK its mainly Homebase and B & Q here.

Little did Duchess know that the word "buttinski" was the phrase and keyword that turned Clang Mcfly into a highly skilled Russian assassin.......

Just as well really.

Big difference between a sports car and a lawn mower. Also, a big difference between a $400 a month payment for Cobra and what $1600 for a tractor. All your arguments are null and void because you said she would not LET you get one.

She would not let me because we discussed it and she made me see sense that it was not a practical purchase.
Do you understand? I will try again in morse code or semaphore if it doesn't penetrate that concrete walnut you call a brain this time.
You are of course right, a lawn tractor is a far more practical purchase than getting health insurance for an operation that you need.

So where was she on the Blackberry fiasco? Watching Downton Abbey? Dropped the fucking ball on that one, didn't she?
Here's how "equal partners" works: a fancy-pretty but useless item like a diamond ring= splurge. A tool to make your life infinitely easier=necessity. If she actually mows the lawn half the time, she gets a say. Otherwise tell her to shut the fuck up until it's time to buy pots and pans or a love seat or something. As long as the yard is your job it should be your call.
Unless testicles were one of those things she convinced you weren't necessary...

Are you still going on and on about my fucking cellphone dipshit? A cellphone is not a major purchase and never has been not to me anyway I change cellphones like i change socks.
Any major purchase is discussed practical or not neither of us goes out and splurges large amounts of cash without consulting the other.
My wife does the lions share of the gardening but I mow the lawn and maintain the fencing. When we discussed it I had to admit I just wanted a ride on mower because I am a lazy twat who wanted to ride around his garden like little lord fauntleroy! A ride on mower is not a necessity unless you have at least an acre of land otherwise you are just being a lazy twat.

I didn't know I would have gallbladder problems when I declined Cobra. It's just been in the last month that I have started having issues. I don't even know if surgery would be an option at this time.
Just admit it CN. The wife is the boss. It's ok. We know we have the power.

If you are constantly having to knock back the advil just to get through the day then something is seriously wrong. Nothing is more important than your health, and yeah that includes a fucking ride on mower.
If you are happy thinking my wife runs the show go ahead keep thinking that it might help ease the pain of your fucked up gall bladder even though its not actually true.

I would think men would like to have their woman running the show, all they have to do is show up, they don't have to be involved in the hassle of making sure everything runs smoothly. I make a shit ton of decisions on my own, I do whatever I can to make sure life runs smoothly for him. He has enough bs to contend with, I do whatever I can to make his nest a happy, relaxing place to be.
