While I was aware that it could happen to men I thought instances of it were very rare. I was wrong.

Female victims are often the focus of initiatives against domestic abuse. But according to a 2010 report from the Centers for Disease Control, more than one in four men in the U.S. experience rape, physical violence and/or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime, and one in seven men experience severe physical violence from an intimate partner.

How can a man be raped? I'm genuinely curious.

Men can be drugged. They can be bound. They can be overpowered by one or more persons. They can be threatened with a deadly weapon (and sodomized by inanimate objects). By another man or a woman.

And, rape doesn't require penetration under many laws in most states.

Rape is woefully under reported overall; more so for male victims.

It is becoming increasingly common these days. Many men feel reluctant in coming forward with reports of physical abuse by a female spouse they often fear they will be stigmatised as pussies or wimps which is not the case. I have dealt with a couple of cases myself with my mentor Julia. They were both older men with the somewhat old fashioned view of you NEVER hit women, even in self defence.

I myself was in a volatile relationship when I was younger and was hit a few times by my nutcase of a girlfriend I used to just restrain her until she calmed down. Then one day I'd had enough and she punched me in the belly so I slapped her as hard as I could across the chops and then I physically escorted her out of my apartment.

Even though I know better I always think of rape as penetration and I wondered how a man could be forced to have sex if he couldn't get it up. How do you make someone fuck you. Seems so simple if it's the woman being raped.

As far as being touched in an offensive manner my personal philosophy is, if you hit someone you absolutely deserve to be hit back. Fuck that "don't hit women" bullshit. She hits you, nail her.
