Minimum wage
#1
I keep seeing how minimum wage sucks on Facebook.   I also see people saying they have to have 2 or 3 jobs to live within their means.

Are people's means to high? Is nobody frugal anymore,  or do we all think we're better than that?

I'm so tight I squeak.

I don't think I've ever worked for minimum wage, I must have as a teenager, but I don't recall it.

I just had an argument with someone whose income was 194k a year.   He keeps saying his quality of life has dropped.    I just wanted to know,  what quality?  And why?

I think that many people, no matter their income, live paycheck to paycheck. Generally speaking, the more you make, the more you spend, it's all relative.

I once lived beyond my means and accumulated some debt, it was't a lot, but it was the best thing that could have happened to me, it made me straighten up and fly right.

The people that I see complaining about minimum wage are the business owners that have to pay it.

I have heard them argue that min wage should not be something a person lives on-it was designed for young people just learning the job market and maybe retired people.
While I agree sort of about that and i get where they are coming from I know and most people seem to know that that isn't what has happened so people are getting min wage jobs and living off them as thier sole income.
Usually these business owners chime in with "And they should go to school if they want to make more $"
While I also agree with that statement-I know and most people know that higher education isn't an option for everyone all the time-I believe where there is a will there is a way, but I also know how hard it is and how expensive it is.

SO....to answer your questionabout people having multiple jobs and living w/in thier means-some of that is true-but I believe the cost of living has gone up but not wages.
Do I know all of the research for sure? No. BUT I'VE SEEN THE MEMES!

What good is a minimum wage if it isn't tied to the cost of living? Not a whole lot.

Personally, I think there should be a maximum wage/salary/compensation set at 10X the minimum. Imagine the shit fits the billionaires would have.

Why do other countries seem to manage this kind of thing so much better than the United States? Not only are people paid a decent wage but there is health care and education, housing as well. I probably shouldn't have brought this up, I've only read bits & pieces about it throughout the years.
