Caylee Anthony. NO JUSTICE
(06-15-2011, 03:54 PM)LytoMe Wrote: Why on earth would they call a person that they are stating George Anthony contacted on July 14th, BOZO already stated in his opening statement that Caylee died a month before...and Kronk helped dispose of the body.
Insane

Here is the court document adding Vasco Thompson. It was probably a wrong number.

ORLANDO --
News 13
Hours before Casey Anthony's lawyers are set to start calling their first witnesses, the Anthony family's attorney has issued a statement regarding one witness the defense may try to link to her father, George.

The statement from attorney Mark Lippman follows:

—————————————————————————

Casey Anthony through her defense team has filed a last minute witness that they have just "newly" discovered. This defense motion has alleged that there were four points of contact on July 14, 2008, by telephone between Mr. Vasco Dagama Thompson and my client, Mr. George Anthony.

Further, it has been identified through the Clerk of Court in Orange County, Florida, that Mr. Vasco Dagama Thomson has a criminal conviction.

Mr. Anthony has requested that following information be released to the media:

1. Mr. Anthony does not know Vasco Dagama Thompson.
2. Mr. Anthony does not recall ever speaking with Mr. Vasco Dagama Thompson at any time including July 14, 2008, by any form of communication.
3. Mr. Anthony does not recall ever receiving telephone calls from Mr. Vasco Dagama Thompson including on July 14, 2008.
4. Mr. Anthony does not recall ever calling Mr. Vasco Dagama Thompson. including on July 14, 2008.
5. The Defense has failed to identify who initiated the telephone calls.
6. The Defense has failed to identify the length of time of each telephone call.

This simply appears to be another attempt by the defense to attack my client. Mr. Anthony has and will continue to maintain the position that he had nothing to do with the death of Caylee Marie Anthony, or any of the events that occurred afterward regarding the actions of the Defendant Casey Anthony established by the State of Florida in the presentation of their case.

Just can't wait till 9 am. My child will be at daycare, I've got my new electronic cigarette, a big piece of leftover lasagne and some chocolate cake. I'm good to go. I just hope it rains so I don't feel guilty about laying on the couch all day!

If they do decide to put Casey on the stand, when would she go on? Would it make a didderence if they put her on in the beginning or the end?

Did I miss the states closing argument today or is that tomorrow? I know they talked today but dont have to much time right now to catch up on it.. I would love to see them put casey on the stand, she would convict herself right then and there!

both sides' closing arguments are at the end of case. it's the last thing before Judge gives loooong boring jury instructions.

Tomorrow is just the beginning of the defense's case. Closing arguments will not be until after that. If I understand correctly, they first present their case and when they are both done they make closing statements. I could be wrong because I am not at all familiar with trials.

Oh ok thank you both. Im lost with how it works but Im very excited to hear what the hell her dumb ass lawyer is going to say!!! I cant freaking wait!

funny he argued nobody knows how Caylee died...i thought defense said she drowned in pool.

To me, this is the most telling condition of the defense's "case". Shameful!

Damn shame the jury wasn't present to hear this.

when this starts tomorrow, it will be the third anniversary of Caylee's "disappearance". baez & co. will dishonor her memory in every way possible. he should be ashamed. not for defending his client, that is expected and honorable. but for dirtying up the truth. Angel

Was it every discussed or shown on TV regarding casey's reaction to being told that Calee's remains were found? She had to act upset. I would love to see her fake reaction...how good of an actress was she?!

her reaction at jail was never released i don't believe. it was described, but not in court. it could have played either way.

re: post 662, the con they are trying to connect with george...Vasco Dagama Thompson. he was released from prison in 2004. this was most likely a wrong number glitch with phones. so now the defense has probably ruined the life of some guy who may well have been getting his life in order and being a citizen. he's all over the news outlets in Orlando tonight. now he'll be dragged through the bullshit too. i hope the defense has to eat shit re: this 'witness' tomorrow. and i bet they thought they were going to somehow say he helped george hide the body. another Perry Mason moment for mason & baez.

She could go on anytime. The defense could start with her - she could give her story and witnesses could then support it. Or various witnesses could go first, and the defendent is put on last. A lawyer in a murder case won't have a defendant testify unless there's a very high probability that the jury will find the defendant believable. And there's just no way the jury would find Casey believable.

Hope it's a wrong number - if so, there should be a call to a very similar number on Thompson's phone log.

The defense will not get far enough with this dude to get his phone records. This is total bullshit. No way is the Jugde going to let Baez add some random criminal that the defense could have very well investigated nearly three years ago. I remember when the phone records came out. Lots of discussion about who and why. VascoT was discussed in several forums back then. VascoT is not new.

I wish I had a definitive witness list for the defense. Anybody?

And what is going to happen if Kronk is not on the list (which I do not think he is)?

Agreed LC! Can he sue them for this? HLM and Nancy Grace had him all over their shows as did every other news outlet! I'm not familiar with all court proceedings and the bullshit that defense teams are willing to throw up against a wall to see if it sticks! Just like poor George, when all is said and done and that Twat of a daughter of his is locked up, can he sue for defamation?

suits are civil actions. anyone can file suit for anything! will the suits win? sometimes. usually they are settled before they get to a courtroom. (don't even get me started on why we need tort reform in this country! Smiley_emoticons_razz )

i think what you mean is such a suit winnable...yes it could be except lawyers in trial are immune from defamation charges. they can say anything and accuse anyone.

again, i do think baez may be accused of malpractice when this is over. and ethics violations. the Bar does have a Canon of Ethics by which they must adhere.

a word about news coverage, if you haven't already noticed. HLN (headline news channel) bought tru TV/court TV/in sessions. they are AWFUL!! they have hired the worst POS linda kenney baden to comment on trial...she was on defense team and left because of money. she is unethical, lies like a rug, screams at the camera, makes ridiculous excuses for anything the defense says or does, and is such an obnoxious disgusting media whore getting her last 5 minutes in, that i can't watch those stations. i understand having opposing views, but she is beneath stupid.

also...both those stations run 5 minutes trial. 10 minutes of commercials.
find a live stream online at WESH or Orlando Sentinel or WFTV or News 13 in Orlando. they will not interrupt testimony.

further, in sessions will go off live air at 3 PM even if the verdict was about to be announced. then run their crappy canned programs. it's NOT court TV anymore.

HLN and court TV have lost me forever. and i am letting them know that i have a crime forum and have suggested members do the same. fuck them and linda kenney baden.
