MORNING NEWS
#1

Do you watch or listen to the morning news programs as you start your day? If so, what one do you watch/listen to?

I've always had the Today show on in the background but I'm going to dump them. Yesterday they broke into the actual reading of news to bring us a woman giving birth live & this morning, LIVE, they showed a couple doing in vitro fertilization. I know more about that than I ever wanted to know and fuck all if I want to have current events replaced with this kind of thing.

I want my regular news stuff back.

I had the news on this morning and my 6-year old walked in as theyre talking about the Kenya situation. He's asking me about it and I'm tap dancing around it. I quickly changed the channel before any real details were talked about.

So, to answer your question, I personally don't have news on in the morning very often as I have to screen what can be seen and heard.

I've never thought about how that kind of thing would be handled. There is A LOT on television that isn't suitable for children. Do you have to block channels or censor in other ways?

We don't have cable, but we're still on top of what they're watching.

It'll get harder as they get older.

I listen to the BBC or PBS and a few others on my way into work. No television usually. The morning television talk shows seem dumbed down for public consumption a bit too much for me.
I looked on yahoo today and it was all Emmy, Miley, Kardashian stupid shit. I like the Canadian stuff better.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.
