Did I miss something in the time line? I thought I read that he had just bought that shotgun a few days before the attack?
The one in the pic looks like its been rattling around in the back of an impala foe a year, its got bailing wire on it.

It looks like he tried and failed to do some modifications maybe... the stock is all boogered up, and it looks like some sort of epoxy filler or gorilla glue was used to fill the gap on one side. Also looks like maybe the pins have been poorly tapped out at least once.

Or it could be that the weapon was damaged in the firefight, and the FBI crappily reassembled it for photos perhaps?
