THANKSGIVING WEEK
Strauss brand veal is crate free and pasture raised, however. That's the only one I would trust.

I've eaten veal before, but I didn't think it was so delicious that I couldn't live without it.

I don't want anything to have to die in order to feed me :(

If I were suffering and the only thing that stood between me and death was a cow, of course I would eat the cow but it's not like that and it bothers me that something is killed just so I could have a burger or steak. Strangely, I don't have these feelings in regards to seafood. Go figure.

I just don't want to eat anything that has been chained up and confined to a small space, pumped full of medication and forced to lay in it's own shit. Besides for being inhumane and cruel it tastes like crap because the animal has been stressed its entire life.

I don't think wild turkey taste better than farm raised. They were almost extinct at one time and Charles Dickens wrote that scrooge got a Turkey for the Cratchit family because turkey was considered a delicacy in Europe. much better than a Goose. Do you like a Goose better than Turkey Sally? Wasnme

I don't particularly like turkey except for the crispy skin when it comes out of the oven. I've only had goose grease spread on bread and topped with cheese and other garnishes. It was prepared by an old lady that owned the wine cellar that we went to in Hungary and I think it was the top ten best things I've ever eaten.

BH told me quite awhile ago that I didn't appreciate good food and at the time I denied it but I'm just now gettin' what she meant. I enjoy the taste of a delicious meal but that's the extent of it. BH would probably be willing to try goose grease and appreciate the delicious-ness of it whereas I would have to be stabbed with a fork in order to wrap my lips around it.

I didn't even know I was eating rendered goose fat until I asked my husband what is on this bread and why does it taste so amazing. I guess they put that on bread over there like we use butter or olive oil over here. And then the crusty bread is just simply adorned with some red onion, cheese, slices of grape and a sprinkle of sea salt.

Jobs are overrated (unless you love what you do--and you're afforded a certain amount of freedom).

I'd rather rip my toenails off with a set of pliers as opposed to punching some clock somewhere. BTDT. Granted, it was good for my self esteem (the plaudits, promotions, increased responsibilities etc.) but I'm going to get all that instead from shoveling shit at the local humane society soon. I have more freedom at my job than I need, sometimes I would like Tina to just tie me to my chair and get out the whip and feathers and just start...........nevermind.

59 Good luck to you. I'd probably cry every day if I volunteered there.

Heh.

I mostly love my job but I have days where I don't want an agenda, I want the luxury of doing nothing at all if that's my desire.

Yep, that's a typical tradition there. We had a little farm full of Ducks and Geese back home, and I remember our little Grand Grandmother taking a chair, grabbing each one of them, stuffing them with corn, then tying little ribbons around their necks so they couldn't puke it out. 2 months of that, cut them, and they took all that fat and cooked it with the stuffed livers. It was like a confit of foie gras! Utterly decadent.

That one on fresh warm bread with a bit of salt, pure heaven and breakfast of my childhood.

Maggot, of course Turkey was a delicacy in Europe. There are none. Unlike Salmon actually, which when you read contracts for hotel workers from around 1920 in Germany, said that it will not be served more than twice a week as staff food. How times have changed.

I myself actually prefer Duck to Goose. Goose only got the fat and liver, but a Duck!! Total perfection all over.
