The Mustang turns 50, today.
My economics professor and mentor (NAU), Bob Eggert, is the man credited with naming the car.
He was an avid equine enthusiast and owner . . . mostly Quarter Horses.
The Mustang epitomized the spirit, strength and attitude befitting a sporty vehicle (trying to gain market share from the Corvette).
Although retired, he became an adjunct professor and shared his wealth of knowledge and components for short and long term forecasting.
Unassuming, polite, devoid of ego and an absolute genius.
I still use his economic models (and that of his Eco-Economist son) as a basis for forecasting.
He had a beautiful place in Sedona.

Wish I would've mentioned this earlier, but jet lag still has a hold on me, so I'm not thinking too clearly.
We ended up flying from Honolulu to Denver (instead of SFO). It was an overnight flight so we got into Denver in the early morning hours.
Flying over the Rockies (still snowcapped at higher elevations) with the rising sun shining on them was beautiful.
As we approached Denver, we were flying at about 20K feet and descending. We had a couple of banks that when you looked out the window, the mountains appeared to be just feet from you. Stunning.
All in all, the 6 takeoff and landing segments we had were very good. Not too much turbulence either. My wife used her drugs and all was good.

Where else would the "cap" of a mountain be?
I miss the Rockies.
"the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world," and by God, I was right. Keep your nose in the wind and your eye along the skyline.

I put my daughters Easter basket together with a little chocolate bunny, mini Cadbury eggs, mini chocolate/ peanut butter eggs and a Pez Dispenser. The Pez Dispenser is for me. That's always been my favorite candy.
