My bladder ultrasound came back abnormal. Inflamed and covered in growths, but he thinks it's just cystitis. Great. He referred me to a urologist and they scheduled the appointment for Dec. 2nd and then called me back and moved it to the 23rd. In the mean time all I can think is that it's cancer, especially now that my periods are weird all of the sudden. But that's probably from the mental stress of thinking I have bladder cancer. I was just teasing about the hypochondria, because you stated you thought you had ebola a few weeks back. Stress causes the body to do all sorts of weird things. It can cause your period to be fucked up-a lot of brides get their periods on their honeymoon, because the stress of planning a wedding causes their system to go out of synch. Stress can also cause hives, hair loss, psoriasis, phantom aches, weight loss/gain and a slew of other things. On another note, I had a bladder ultrasound last year because of abnormal bloodwork. They put a catheter in you and fill your bladder up to the point that if feels like it's going to bust, Than they take the ultrasound wand and push down on your bladder until you pee all over the table. Have fun with that.

I was just reading about a 16 yr. old girl killed while walking to her bus, another teen passed the stopped school bus which had its lights flashing indicating it was stopped and picking up a kid. At the end of the story it said the DA's office will determine if charges are warranted? Does anyone know why that would even be a question?

Fortunately the pedestrians usually stop to make sure ALL the traffic is stopping and don't assume that just because one car did, all the others will follow (even if they have the right of way). I wonder if the school bus stopped at a crosswalk. I'm not sure if it makes a difference but I was pretty surprised to see a bus pull over the other day, flash its lights and a bunch of older students dart across the street (a very busy street) without a crosswalk. This is an exaggeration of course but you wouldn't expect a bus to pull over to the side of the freeway, flash its lights and expect a bunch of people to randomly spill out on to the road. At least I wouldn't. Commando Cunt Queen

Because people are walking into traffic and bouncing off telephone poles when they are yapping on their phones New York is considering different ways to re-do their inner city sidewalks so people don't act so stupid, not sure what their plans are but the story goes that because times are changing and people are to stupid to pay attention where they are walking the sidewalks should be made safer. This comes after 2 people just walked out in front of cars without "looking both ways" first and got killed.
Let us pray.

I don't know how to phrase this so I don't sound so cold hearted, it is what it is - if people are dying or being badly hurt because they aren't using their senses then I feel it's all on them. Changing sidewalks to protect people from themselves is just as dumb as those who walk into traffic.

I judge my safety to walk thru crosswalks by the well-maintained and cared for condition of the cars in the area.
Nobody wants to ruin their nice car by hitting a 200+ pound white dude. If there's shady looking cars on the street tho... I watch my back.

Just want to go on record as thinking recent action by Mr. Obama re Cuba is a good thing. We need to mend fences; Bay of Pigs was 52 some years ago and Raul is in charge. Movie stars, directors, etc. used to hang out in Cuba and is only 90 miles from coast of Florida. When I used to have to participate in "ditching" exercises (for the airlines), the Coast Guard cutters which took us way out from the shores always mentioned that fact (early 60's before BoP).
Because my parents could fly free with me, i took them to the Caribbean Islands and one stop was in the Dominican Republic. Every time i went to swimming pool, i noticed a bunch of burly guys sitting on chairs in front of hotel room. They asked me where i lived and when I told them El Paso, TX, they started teasing me about speaking Spanish; told them I knew only "Si" and after 4 years in a border town, they thought that was really funny. Next time, i was out by pool, i recognized some of the guys and we spoke. They were bodyguards for Batista who had been ousted out of Cuba. I did see him surrounded by his bodyguards. Actually, on one of my flights to Houston in late 50's, i saw Castro, also. In those days, right before revolution, he was seen as a hero by most of us and he was cheered and revered on that day. You know i think i posted this once before.....My memory sucks....

Maybe we could rent out Guantanamo so they have a place to keep their political prisoners with the stipulation that they have to keep the ones there for the rest of their lives. We could say, yeah they were freed but just leave them there.

I think it's long past time for the US to re-examine it's Cuba policy in today's terms, too. The political reaction to Obama's announcement has been mostly dependent on party lines; the Democrats generally embrace the change in stance, while the Republicans generally denounce it (at least partially), based on what I've read. Rand Paul, Libertarian/Republican (that's how I see him anyway), is an exception. He publicly agreed with Obama's move towards normalizing relations for the sake of mutually-beneficial trade and economic gain. Paul acknowledges that the 5 decade's embargo hasn't accomplished much of anything. It'll be interesting to see how the change affects immigration in the future.

Once I read "Rand Paul" my mind began to race with thoughts of a snarky response but his opinion stopped me in my tracks.

So, I posted it in the new, 2015 thread. Can you summarize your year in a few sentences? I hate resolutions but what went right in 2014 that you hope continues in to 2015? Or things that you hope will happen in 2015?
C'mon. Give it to me. You have to EARN the right to post in next year's trivial thread by closing out this year. I just made that up but it sounds good to me. Commando Cunt Queen

Ah, the year in review. It passed fast, speed of light fast. I had the best Summer of my life (so far) and except for a couple minor things it has pretty much continued on. I learned that I should never, ever put on a pair of daisy dukes and shake my ass while holding a sign that says "I'm smart". Happiness & the company of people I genuinely care about is worth way, waaaaaay more than money. Who knew?! I did a couple things this year that took me outside of my comfort zone. I was scared and as nervous as I've ever been but I did it anyway. That's probably the thing that sticks out the most of this past year. I'm proud of me and I feel very lucky that I had someone there to catch me when I took that leap of faith.

If Russia decides to build a base in Cuba I don't think it will go down like it did with Kennedy. That was the deal with the bay of pigs. Did Cuba agree not to build a base on its island as a requirement to repairing relations? I think not.
Merry Christmas.

Hey........I wanna go to Cuba, get some scuba diving in, smoke a cigar, and drink too many Cuba Libres while listening to Rumba in the streets of Havana, Mags. That's a goal for 2016.
Russia hasn't built that base in the 50 years that we've been punishing Cuba, so I don't see why Russia would be permitted to do it now that we're lifting embargoes and mending fences with the Castros. Anyway, Cuba's gonna bank some big US tourism revenue outta the deal and, at present, Russia's economy is going down the drain due to global sanctions against them. But, there is a hell of a lotta Chinese business underway in Cuba -- damned Commies always stick together.
