Gotta toast the New Year, Mockers

I said it would still be there when we got up and I was right. I also said that people who go out to party late on New Year's Eve are basically only there looking for someone to be at home in bed with, so in that regard we were way ahead of the pack.

Yeah, I got over wild partying on New Year's Eve a looong time ago. If there were a chance in hell I was going to wake up with a hot stranger in bed next to me the next morning, I'd probably go out again.

I remember being in SF one New Year's Eve, drunk off my ass and there were no taxis to be found. We had to walk back to our hotel and I had to sort of slide along the buildings (using them for support to keep me upright) to make it there. I don't know why that used to be considered FUN!

I took my dog for a long hike this morning and I'm now I'm just chillin'. No hangover....nice. Smiley_emoticons_smile

No hangover here either. I went to bed at 10 pm too, but not with my husband. I told him to fuck off and slept in the guest room. I don't know why he decided to pick a fight with me in the grocery store, but we ended up leaving without getting anything for dinner or champagne. Ended up having to order out and needless to say the new year wasn't brought in happily.

Today is a little better. The greens, black eyed peas and cornbread are just about ready.

I remember getting toasted one new years eve with my brother at a bar and that year it was nothing but ice everywhere. You could not take a step without falling on your ass, we left the bar and were walking to my apartment and down the hill came a Cadillac with a bunch of people in it. It was sliding sideways down the road out of control and all you heard were people screaming as it went by.
By the time we fumbled out to the intersection it was gone and must have righted itself after it passed us, I woke up the next day with bruises, cuts, scrapes from falling down on the stupid ice drunk. My brother had a lump on his head that I was laughing about the night before when both his feet almost gave his eyes double black eyes when he wiped out.

Man, it was icy that night.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

The coldest I've ever been is when we were in North Carolina for New Years eve about 6 years ago. My son and I walked to Starbucks in the morning to get coffee and everything was iced over, not to mention the wind was blowing chunks of ice and snow from the roof tops onto our heads. It was only about a block away, but that was the worst walk ever. It almost made me happy I live in Fl.

Yeah the only holiday after New Years is the Superbowl other than that its woodcarving, fixing stuff inside the house and darts. I do like hanging out in the barn with the woodstove blasting and the smell of wood and the occasional poker game with a few guys from work but other than that its hibernation season.

yeah my New Year's Eve didn't go smoothly either. Woke up late and grumpy that morning and mom kept annoying and pestering me when all I wanted to do was relax a little before 4pm Mass. Serves her right though she tired herself out so much that morning/afternoon she was too tired to help me and roktar make the homemade pizza. Ended up making meatball subs instead. She was so tired I had to wake her up five minutes to midnight because she didn't want to miss seeing the ball drop. Things went better today, we were all in a better mood and I happily helped her all afternoon make the ham, potatoes, stuffing, mincemeat pie and cheddar biscuits for dinner tonight. Roktar stayed up until 9am today(why? I dont know.) so he spent most of today in bed like the lazy bastard CN accuses me of being. Though he did wash most of yesterday and today's dirty dishes while I checked the furnace and took out the garbage and ashes.

oh well I'll just try harder to fool you next time. Nurse can I get an extra shot of Thorazine tonight? And add another layer of padding to the walls? Also could you loosen my straitjacket a little so it's easier to communicate with the feisty demons that live in my tappity talk portal to hell device? Or as I call it Interdimensional Portal of Demons or iPod for short.

Well seams like I may have had enough of a good time for the 3 of us , Sally & Clang.

Tuesday , I got in 4 hours of pool before the band started playing. Prime Rib supper, Bud light , Jeager Bombs, and Champaign at midnight, Dancing and of coarse my New years "kisses" from the girls. Then yesterday after we all came to and got showered we went right back to the bar and started celebrating the new year again. Pool tournament, more alcohol, and more happy new years smooches.

If the rest of 2014 is going to be anything like the last couple days it will be a great year !!!!

Happy new year.

I am off until tuesday now and boy did I fucking earn it! Spent most of new years eve and new years day negotiating with people who were drunk of high or both in the presence of police officers. Two childcare interventions and a few battered spouses to sort out as well, trying to find bloodied and battered women and their kids a place in a refuge or a hostel during new year? Tricky to say the least. Glad tidings of good new year cheer were not in abundance this year that's for sure.

Happy New Year, CN.

It's good work that you do. Enjoy your delayed New Year's break.

I spent a good deal of time juggling staffing to make sure all of the seniors under my watch had full and qualified coverage after some emergencies surfaced. No celebrations, but those can always wait.

All worked out now and welcoming the new year with my family on Monday.

Cheers.

The saddest thing is these women rarely press charges and often end up going back to the cunt that beat them up.

Never mind time to get legless soon.

We've all done something crazy when we are legless! Oscar Pistorius springs to mind!

Lol.
