If you make a home cooked meal do you go out and hand out the leftovers? If not why not?
I seriously answered all of your questions when you first feigned interest.
I've read all your comments about my choices and the "hobos', "tramps", and "peasants" where I've chosen to set up home.
I don't see any of it as you do. That's all. Agree to disagree and move on, or maybe someone else who lives in an urban area with a sizable homeless population will feel compelled to answer your questions. If they don't view it as you do, maybe you can change how they think and feel.
So you wouldn't offer the homeless your fast food leftovers or tour the streets with your leftovers from a home cooked meal? Its only restaurant leftovers that is essential for the homeless?
How strange, but fair enough.
Like I said I have bought food for homeless people in the city on numerous occasions, I wouldn't offer them my leftovers though. There are mountains and piles of surplus food all over the western world, if you are genuinely concerned about feeding the homeless spend your time trying to get companies to distribute it to the homeless and hungry. That will feed infinitely more needy people than your leftovers.

CN and aussie have proven to me once and for all that they are indeed superior people and brilliant minds, alone or as a pair. Solid as a rock emotionally and "authentic" as all hell, too. Not to mention quick as a whip.
It only had to be surmised by others that it's a cultural difference several times seriously and via a few mock posts before aussie shared her enlightening realization "maybe it's cultural" in regard to the practice of taking food home for personal consumption. And, while it's also been stated that nobody looks down on what she chooses to do or not to do several times, she continues to chastise others for their personal choices and cultural perspectives and offer lessons in generosity, whilst simultaneously preaching against snobbery. She's truly special.
CN's razor sharp, as well. It only took days for him to switch from bashing the homeless and the cities where people routinely informally and formally assist them (rather than treating them as eyesores who dirty up the place, as CN originally characterized them) to positioning himself as an "altruistic" giver (his favorite word - which he apparently takes liberty with when applying to himself), a tireless advocate, and an expert when it comes to the homeless in America. Slick and subtle and truly believable, no doubt.
I vow to give serious consideration to CN's preachings about how to formally help the homeless in San Francisco. Due to his expertise and because he's one who clearly reads and comprehends posts with ease, it's possible that he may have a point in suggesting that volunteering at the food bank and shelters - which serve millions of meals a year with the help of the restaurant and grocery donors all across the city - is not a wide-reaching enough effort. I'm gonna let that wisdom sink in.
LOL. Whether intentionally obtuse or just naturally arrogant and uninformed ... doesn't matter to me. A sincere tribute "LOL" is in order to Ms. Pollo Loco and the self-proclaimed "altruistic bad guy". The king and queen of the backpedal (but nobody else notices it, I'm sure).

How very kind of you; subsidizing their next pint or fix. Good job, Aussie!

On the subject of back pedalling which you were kind enough to raise, I would like to highlight to the group how you yourself “back pedalled” like a gorilla on steroids, when the truth about the actual situation of the “I was on the bus thread” became clear to you. After of course first spitting bile in my face like Sal, but as we all know in foum land wolves are cowards and only hunt in packs.
You have also yet to enlighten us as to why you gift the homeless with your blessed restaurant leavings but not your fast food or home cooked leavings?
Saying I changed my tune about the homeless is bullplop as well, I merely stated homeless people were few and far between where I live and if they were begging outside restaurants they would be told to leave. That is not my opinion that is my reality which differs from yours. Giving restaurants scraps to the needy maybe your idea of a crescendo to a good night out but to a lot of people its not.
It is a case of “we are the general consenus you are the crazy people”.
If the general consenus ruled, which thank fuck it doesn't, we would probably still be living in caves. Thank fuck for the crazy people who dare to think different.

I rarely take anything that you say seriously after considering it, CN. There's little that you say which is worthy of serious consideration. It's clear to me that you're only trying to amuse yourself. I hope it works.
Nice try with the blatant deflection in your post above, though.
Regarding your bus thread, I never changed my opinion regarding your actions and I will always retain the right to mock you equally in one thread as you mock me in another.
Difference is, I'll stop mocking when you request to be taken seriously and offer further explanation, consider your explanation, and honestly acknowledge if I understand your position, whether I agree or not. Not a contest, to me. You don't seem able to do that for whatever reason, but that's your issue.
I stand by my post - which reflects my feelings alone. Others might find you sincere in your changing positions and accurate in your assessments of the situation and me. That wouldn't bother me.
Now, you're more clingy than the smell of an egg-salad sandwich left in the sun for 3 days, so I'll leave the left-over bad taste in your mouth for you to continue trying to swallow - I'm hungry for some fresher posts.
The end.

(Ditto - the general banality of your utter drivel is matched only by its truly epic length)

(There was no deflection, and even if there was a deflection you matched by deflecting my question about why you give restaurant leftovers to the homeless but not the leftovers from other meals? I'm guessing convenience YOUR convenience, you give the homeless leftovers when it is convenient for YOU to do so how noble!)

(I retain the right to do the same to you, a right I'm going to be exercising a lot more from now on)

(I will ignore your explanations from now on too I find them hypocritical vacous and highly superficial and vapid in the extreme. You are a poster child for the banal pedants of the world)
I stand by my post - which reflects my feelings alone. Others might find you sincere in your changing positions, rationale, and accurate in your assessments of the situation and me. That's fine.

(Yes that's right in your self deluded world I'm “clingy” believe me I know where you are coming from. I have a pedant following me around like a hungry dog that I occassionally throw scraps to when I feel sorry for it. Maybe I shouldn't encourage it? But what can I say? I'm flypaper for the needy who yearn for my attention, I sometimes confuse them because I move in mysterious ways)
The end.
(You can't help being you so it will NEVER be the end)
