Now I'm born and bred in England but I was raised on a diet of American tv shows when I was a kid. everything from WHIRLYBIRDS, HIGHWAY PATROL, WAGON TRAIN, CHEYENNE, BONANZA, BEWITCHED, TOP CAT, LAUREL AND HARDY, believe me I could go on for another thousand programmes. I loved all the American stuff. I spent my pocket money on SUPERMAN comics more than I did English ones. My favourite show of all was SGT BILKO, better known as the Phil Silvers show. I have just about every episode (with the exception of 5), That was really something to look forward to. I transferred them all to dvd and still watch them occasionally. Then there's Laurel and Hardy. The most brilliant comedy duo of all time. I have every talking comedy they did, plus documentaries on them. They have me laughing as much today as they did when i was a kid.
So I love all things American, it's part of my upbringing and can't change it.
What about you guys? Any of our shows you like or hate? Anything about our personalities you like or dislike? It will be interesting to get a little feedback! Don't worry, I can take any of your criticism! That's fine by me.
I'm a big boy now.

I don't have anything bad to say about the UK. I think it's all as Dickens has described to me & I love the architecture. I know a few Brits whose words I always read with a British accent in my mind, strange, very strange, but true. I think your food is a little gross but apparently some Brits view our food the same way. I'm not familiar with British television shows, I'm barely familiar with American television.

Never quite cared for British comedy, but drama and other stuff I have seen on BBC are pretty good.

Well slap my hide and dang my britches, but I too do as you do and read mail from an American and read it with an American accent! I wonder if we all do? Now Dickens is my all-time favourite author. He can do no wrong in my book. The food here isn't bad. Fish and chips and pizza are big sellers, so are curried meals. I do my own cooking though, I like to know what I'm eating and will never eat from a foreign place or people with a different skin colour and religion than mine. And you are certainly different. most of the chicks I know are sat on their arses all day watching soaps. I kid you not, lazy fucks.

And if ever there is a Dickens drama done by the BBC, rest assured I will be glued to every episode. My two ambitions when I first bought a computer around 7 years ago was to: 1. Have a dvd of every single movie I have ever liked, even from childhood. 2. Have a cd of every record I have ever like, even from childhood too. I did that and i have about 1,200 dvds and a few hundred cds. Loads of BBC Dickens dramas amongst them.

Yeah I know I may sound biased but we have the best sense of humour in the world. You gotta do if you live here mate!. And there y'go, ''Diamond 'Geezer'', that's a true cockney expression. You'll be eating jellied eels and winkles next!! (Now that IS a cockney feast. I don't eat them, but I'm from the north east where the PROPER men come from)

I love all the MONTY PYTHON SKETCHES! THIS IS A REAL CLASSIC AND REMINDS ME OF THE LATE 70'S WHEN IT WAS ALWAYS GETTING PLAYED ON THE JUKE BOX IN MY LOCAL. Sorry for the caps, forgot to turn the cap key off. I have ever one of their sketches, Must watch them again soon.

Oh aye? I'm from north east England.
Where do you call yem?
Some people in here don't like me but that's mostly because I'm an asshole not because of my nationality.
Although there are notable exceptions, mohammed has a chip on his shoulder because hegot German blood and still hasn't forgiven us for Dresden. And Crash is an aussie and has a chip on his shoulder about us creating his country as a place so terrible we sent convicts there as a punishment.

A normal pentagram isn't satanic.
An inverted one is.
Its like the difference between a swastika being a Hindu good luck symbol instead of an inverted one which is a symbol of Nazism.

I'm a long time anglophile.
It's largely due to the great culture they can generate and their typical level headedness. Any country that can produce the likes of Churchill and Shakespeare has to be a great country.
I hate the way they won't pronounce a word the same way twice. I miss out on a lot of the culture because the accent is simply ridiculous. Pick a damn pronunciation and stick with it.
