AMBER ALERT: CAITLYN VIRTS, 11

11-year-old Caitlyn is described as being 5 feet and 80 pounds. She may be wearing glasses. Her father and suspected abductor Timothy Virts, 38, is described as being 6'3" and 280 pounds.

Authorities responded to a home in Dundalk around 9 a.m. Thursday on reports of a person in cardiac arrest and found Caitlyn's mom, 36-year-old Bobbie Cortez, dead. Police have not confirmed how she died.

Detectives say Cortez lived at the Dundalk Maryland home (Baltimore County) with her three children -- 11-year-old Caitlyn Virts, who is now missing, Caitlyn's twin sister and a son. Two adults whose relationships with the victim have not been verified also reportedly live at the home. The victim's other two children are safe and in the custody of family members, according to the station.

An Amber Alert for Caitlyn was issued Thursday morning. Police are reportedly concerned for her safety since she is not supposed to be with her father.

He may be driving a black 1999 Dodge Durango bearing Maryland license plates 5AJ4458- which is registered to Daniel Cortez, 38. Daniel Cortez is the victim's husband. He is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on various sex offense charges, reports the station.

Anyone with information in regards to the whereabouts of Caitlyn Virts or Timothy Virts is asked to call 911 or Baltimore County Police Department at 410-887-2020.

Hoping the dad doesn't pull a murder/suicide and that Caitlyn is recovered safely.

Gotta wonder about the nature of the sex offenses charges against mom's husband. Also, curious as to why Caitlyn isn't supposed to be with her dad.

Good news. After expanding the Amber Alter to several states and posting billboards on highways, Caitlyn and her father Timothy Virts were found in a motel in Florence, South Carolina on Friday night. Caitlyn appeared unharmed. It's not clear what tips or leads led police to the location yet.

Timothy Virts is being charged with the first-degree murder of his ex-wife (Caitlyn's mom). Virts reportedly has an extensive police record, has lost two separate child custody cases and was involved in a domestic violence case that earned him a restraining order in 2012.

Caitlyn's twin sister is the one who found her mom stabbed to death -- gotta be terribly traumatic to find your mom dead and your twin sister missing. Hope she has a solid support system.

Turns out, Timothy Virts had been living for a couple of weeks in the house with his ex-wife, their kids, her husband (sex offender Daniel Cortez), and a couple of other unidentified people.

Family members of the murdered mom (Bobbie Jo Cortez) say that she didn't know her husband was a sex offender when she married him. Her father, Daniel Wallace, told a local news station: "She didn’t know he was a child molester. His family didn’t tell her he was a child molester, and when she married him she had no idea until he molested her kids. Then the police told her."

Cortez is currently behind bars for recently molesting a minor. Police reportedly don't believe this has anything to do with Bobbie Joe's murder or Caitlyn's abduction.

Well, IF the minor who Cortez allegedly molested was Caitlyn or another one of Timothy Virts' kids, I can see that being a strong possible connection.

Hopefully, we'll learn more about a possible motive when Timothy Virts is arraigned.
