They finally did the Punisher movie the right way. This movie is VERY gritty and super violent - along the lines of the movie Shoot em Up. I enjoyed it.

I liked the one with Thomas Jane, although I loathe Travolta but then I noticed the cast of the new one.

the Tomas Jane one was an absolute joke and an insult to the comic and character. virtually everyone thought that and the fans were really pissed off at how cheery-MTV it was. I really hated it because they ruined the character. Even the Dolph Lundgren one (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098141/) was better.

This one is much more right on with the character and the killing. And I agree that Ray Stevenson is the perfect actor to play the part.

I had no opinion going in since I had never heard of the character and I don't read graphic novels.

I think Thomas Jane is an under-rated actor. Granted, he's a bit wooden, but he's very good as the stoic warrior type.
